After more messing around than I care to think about, we're back on the air! Yes, flying through the air in our mighty spaceship.

We have changed to a new web host and a new domain registrar. For you non-technical people, this basically means that the company previously responsible for maintaining the website has been kicked to the curb. They charged a lot and did very little. They didn't even offer phone support until recently, but adding it was too little too late. I hate to gripe about things like this, but is it too much to ask for a company to provide a way to contact them when something goes wrong?

The old machine that contained the website and forum hadn't been updated for at least 4 years, if not more (I'm hoping that it's obvious to people that that's a bad thing!). As a result, we weren't able to keep our forum software current (bad), or even perform proper backups (worse). Fortunately, that's all behind us now, because the new server we're using is easily four times more powerful than the old one, and is well maintained and up-to-date. In particular, I've noticed that the forum is much snappier now as a result.

There are still a few miscellaneous things to fix up on the site, but pretty much everything should now be working again. This was probably the most difficult website transition I've ever been involved in, but let's hope that the huge update sparks renewed interest. We're here and ready for new readers to discover Niceguy's escapades and tribulations with Ameriskanks, and how he overcame them to meet the girl he'd always wanted.
